B’nai Emunah to Host a Gathering of Neighborhood Clergy

Recovery after a disaster takes skilled leadership. We all know the faith community often leads many post-disaster recoveries. Yet how many congregational clergy of any faith are truly prepared to take on the leadership positions we know we will face? From sheltering to feeding to goods distribution to resource sharing and referral – the better trained and prepared we are, the better connected we are with each other, the better we will be able to help our neighbors in times of most critical need.

On November 30, 2011 from 10 AM to 12 PM, B’nai Emunah will host a gathering of clergy from congregations in the Outer Sunset district.  We will talk over coffee about our communities and discuss how we can collaborate to lead our communities to a successful recovery after a natural disaster. SF CARD – San Francisco Community Agencies Responding to Disaster – will be there as preparedness experts in congregational emergency planning.

  1. Congregants in the Sunset are wise to attend, to broaden their contacts for help. The city NERT
team would be great for organizing members of the Sunset. (Neighborhood Emergency Response Team), an organized city group training volunteers in SF Chaya Roberts
