Shabbat Shalom from Rabbi Mark Melamut

I just returned from a USCJ conference in Chicago, entitled “Size Matters” – a gathering of community leaders of small Conservative movement affiliated synagogues.  Highlights included learning together with other rabbis, as well as meeting with synagogue consultant Bob Leventhal.  Most helpful were ideas on putting vision and strategy into action in order to enhance and deepen the impact of our community on the lives of our households.

On a side trip with a friend I also found time to visit an amazing building, the sanctuary of the North American Center for Bahai, located in Wilmette, as well as the Botanic Gardens.  Preparing now for shabbat, last weekend’s camping shabbaton at Mt. Diablo and this week’s conference have left me refreshed and refueled to enjoy a very full shabbat and weekend with Bnai Emunah.

Shabbat shalom,

Rabbi  Mark Melamut
