Rabbi Mark Recommends a Talk by Chief Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks

Chief Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks, the Chief Rabbi of the United Hebrew Congregations of the Commonwealth is coming to the JCCSF on Monday, Nov. 26 at noon.  He will speak about “Science, Religion and the Search for Meaning.”  It’s really a very special opportunity – he’s never visited the Bay area in his 20+ years’ tenure as Chief Rabbi – and will be soon retiring.

Rabbi Sacks will be in conversation with Michael Krasny, a frequent radio and television guest, who says “the hostility between religion and science is one of the curses of our age and is damaging to [both] in equal measure.”  In his new book The Great Partnership, Rabbi Sacks argues that the two are not only compatible, but complement each other.

A special discount code (SYNAGOGUE) is available for synagogue members to get half price tickets to attend the program.

You can register online or call the JCCSF at 415-292-1200.

Note it’s a daytime program.
