“Last week Barbara and I joined the vibrant collaborative gathering for Shabbat. (An event for Congregation B’nai Emunah”s and BIJ’s joint B3 Sunday school) The meal served seemed to be enjoyed by all. The running around prior to the service and the level of activity was truly “old synagogue”–what I remember from when I was a kid. Everyone there seemed to really want to be there, and we were caught up in the enthusiasm.
There were more than three dozen children and about 50-75 adults. The B3 school classes participated in the service and in fact were the focus for bits of the program. While the liturgy was not “the traditional” Friday night fare, much was in Hebrew and from my perspective, it was a valid celebration of the Sabbath. Three Rabbi’s were there and each had a part to play.
Barbara and I were glad to have been there, and hope the rest of our B’nai Emunah community takes advantage of future opportunities to be together.”
