A lively quorum met for the Annual General Meeting at B’nai Emunah on May 1, 2016. The format differed from past years as congregants mingled (with food, of course) in the social hall as they perused the published committee/clergy/administrator reports and circulated around the tables where reports were displayed for the Membership, Building, Education and Marketing Committees. The chairs of each committee were available for questions.
The meeting then moved into the sanctuary where the rabbi presented his report. President Jeff Dielle briefly updated the crowd on the status of the relationship and the potential merger with Ner Tamid. Afterwards Treasurer Andrew Nusbaum presented the financial report. A questions and answer session followed.
Bonnie Lindauer led a lively brainstorming of ideas to build the sustainability of the synagogue while Sharon Bleviss took notes. Many good ideas were generated and will be explored and vetted by the Board. Finally, changes to the bylaws were passed, outgoing board members and officers were thanked for their service and new members were elected. An introduction to the new board members will follow soon. The last agenda item was the awarding of a door prize, a fine bottle of wine, to two lucky recipients: Jeff Green and Myron Seeman!
Minutes from the meeting will be made available, as will be the committee reports. Congratulations to our new Board members and officers!
Many thanks to all who attended!
